Create Wi-Fi hotspot directly through command prompt commands
Open command prompt on your windows PC by searching command prompt on start. Now, type in the command prompt commands “netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Hotspot Key=password “.
This creates a hotspot with the name “Hotspot“, as “ssid=Hotspot“. So, it can be changed to any name. And the password is at “key=password”. In this way, password and hotspot name can be changed.
Once the hotspot is set, it should be turned on. To turn it on, write the command prompt commands “netsh wlan start hostednetwork” and use “netsh wlan stop hostednetwork” to stop the hotspot.
There is still something to do, in order to enable Wi-Fi. Press windows button and ‘R’ at the same time, now type “ncpa.cpl” in run. You will see the connected internet connection and a hotspot enabled local connection.
Now, right click on connected internet connection, click on properties> sharing. Tick the box to enable connection. And select the name local hotspot connection correctly.
Use any wifi enabled device and connect to the hotspot by selecting the Wi-Fi “Hotspot” and giving the password “password”.
Hide any folder through command prompt commands
Open command prompt, enter into the folder that is to be hidden. For example, here I am hiding the folder “books”, which is on the desktop. So, type the command prompt command “cd desktop”.
Enter these command prompt commands, “attrib +h +s +r books”, which hides the folder “books”. This hides all the files and folders in that selected folder. To access it again, enter “attrib -h -s -r books”.
Open command prompt and enter into the position of that folder by giving a command “cd desktop“. Since, the folder “books” is on the desktop, enter into the folder that you want to hide, by using the command “cd books“.
Once you enter the folder you want to hide, use this command “cipher /e” to encrypt.
These are few most useful command prompt commands that can help you work more efficiently.
